Starting this Saturday I'll be finally posting a new video and there will be a new video every Saturday from now on. If you are reading this right now, then you are one of the core supporters that have followed me since the channel was shut down with no explanation, and for that I want to sincerely thank you.
When everything was gone from YouTube there was a few days where I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue with the videos or not, as rebuilding everything would take up more time then I had free and I couldn’t really justify taking up so much time and money to spend on this “hobby” anymore. After a long discussion with my wife she made me realize that if I was passionate enough about this I shouldn’t let the setback stop me but I still had to find a way to cover the growing costs now of making and hosting the videos.
Patreon seems like the easiest solution, but after losing almost my entire subscriber base I feel like I need to build it back up again before considering this and in the mean time I also lacked a way to provide some sort of exclusive content for those willing to support the channel – which got me to create “The Absolute Beginner’s Guide to Growing Cannabis”.
This is essentially a compilation of my core videos from the past year organized in an easier to follow structure with a few new videos that haven’t been released yet and a few videos that are exclusive to this guide. It’ll be available On Demand at https://vimeo.com/ondemand/cannabis for both rental and purchase to download as well as having a DVD and Blu-ray option (soon) for those who want a physical copy. This will hopefully cover the costs of hosting and creating future videos and if it does ok I can start taking some time off work to create new content faster.
But this isn’t the only thing I’ve been working on for the past 2 months. This website has been COMPLETELY redone with a lot more polish and I’ve been working on a written beginner’s guide to compliment the videos so this way there would be a good reason for people to go to the website especially with a written guide bridging together the tutorial videos so that it’ll be a lot easier for new visitors to navigate.
I will also now be slowly uploading everything to both Vimeo https://vimeo.com/weedinapot and TheWeedTube http://www.theweedtube.com/members/weedinapot/videos/ as a safeguard as well as starting an Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/WeedInAPot/ to try and get more exposure since I don’t have a built in audience with YouTube anymore.
I could use help though – as I’m a one man team it’s hard for me to get the word out about the videos and guides as well as being able to catch any mistakes both in the videos and in my writing so if you want to lend a hand please share/rate/like/comment/follow the videos wherever you decide to view them so other people know that (hopefully…) the content is worth seeing and send me messages on Facebook with any typos or mistakes you find with the videos / written guides which is slowly being posted section by section as I finish writing it.
